The world's leading producers of bromine and bromine derivatives include the Great Lakes Chemical Company of the United States, Albemarle Corporation, and the Dead Sea Bromine Group of Israel. The bromine production in the United States and Israel is based on natural salt lakes. Therefore, the proportion of bromine extracted from seawater as the initial raw material is about 7%. There are more than 200 bromine chemical production enterprises in China, with more than 200 varieties, mainly including medicines, pesticides, dyes, flame retardants, fire extinguishing agents, refrigerants, and photosensitive materials.
